Small Business

FX that finally fits
a small business.

For businesses with up to €2M annual FX exposure. The same access to interbank rates and transparent execution that big corporates have had for decades, without the bank-grade fees or the wait.

The hidden cost

The hidden cost of using your
house bank for FX.

Most small companies are quietly bleeding money on cross-border payments, and most banks have no incentive to tell them.

Hidden FX margins
Your bank quotes you a 'free' wire but takes 2% to 4% inside the rate. On a €100k transfer that is up to €4,000, every time.
Nobody picks up when the rate moves
Banks route small clients to a hotline, not a specialist. By the time someone calls back, the window is gone.
SWIFT fees you only see on the receiving end
Correspondent bank charges, lifting fees, beneficiary deductions. The actual cost of a payment is rarely the one you signed off on.
No transparent execution moment
Your bank quotes a rate, then settles at a different one. The spread sits hidden inside the rate. There is no transparent execution moment, no quote you can hold.
Two to three business days for a basic wire
Your supplier in Shenzhen is wondering where their money is. So are you.
Markets your bank refuses
Need to pay a supplier in Vietnam, Brazil, or Pakistan? Most banks either refuse the corridor or charge punishing spreads on emerging-market currencies.
What we do

Built for the way small businesses
actually move money.

Six tools, one platform, priced for companies that do not have a treasury department.

Spot trades at interbank rates
Real interbank rates plus a transparent margin you see before you trade. No hidden spread, no surprises on the receipt.
Locked rate at execution
The rate you see in the quote is the rate that executes. No slippage between quote and settlement. The recipient receives exactly the amount we agreed to.
Worldwide local payments
Pay counterparties in their local currency across 50+ markets worldwide, including emerging markets where standard banks frequently block or surcharge.
Local payment rails, not SWIFT
Payments route through local express networks like SEPA and ACH rather than SWIFT correspondent banking. Lower cost, faster settlement, no hidden intermediary fees.
Bulk payments via spreadsheet upload
Pay multiple suppliers across different currencies in a single batch upload. Reconciliation files integrate with standard accounting workflows.
Direct support from people who know your account
Not a chatbot, not a hotline. People with FX expertise available when your business needs them.
Built for

Built for the small companies
that build big economies.

Four examples of how small companies use HansePay every week.

The e-commerce importer
Locks landed cost margins at quote time on every conversion. Transparent fees, no hidden spread on USD or CNY supplier payments.
The manufacturing exporter
Locks the GBP-EUR rate at the moment of invoicing so margin does not drift between order and confirmation.
The creative agency
Pays freelancers across many countries every month. Bulk payments via spreadsheet upload cut AP work dramatically.
The B2B SaaS startup
Pays AWS, US contractors, and overseas freelancers in their local currency at quote-locked rates. Predictable, transparent FX on every conversion.

FAQ

Questions small businesses ask us first.

Is there a minimum FX volume to open an account?
No fixed minimum. HansePay works with companies trading anywhere from a few thousand euros a year to several hundred million. The only thing that changes is which products make sense for your flow. We are honest about that during onboarding.
How is HansePay regulated?
HansePay operates under European MiCAR License, supervised in Germany by BaFin. Full licensing details on our Licenses page.
Can HansePay integrate with my accounting software?
API access is available for institutional customers. Standard format exports work with most accounting workflows. Talk to us about your specific integration needs.
Do you support payments to high-risk countries?
HansePay covers 50+ markets including many emerging markets where standard banks block or surcharge. Every transaction is screened under EU AML and KYC rules. Talk to our specialist about your specific corridor.
What happens to my funds if HansePay fails?
Customer funds are held in segregated accounts at tier-1 European banks, ring-fenced from HansePay's operating capital. In an insolvency, those funds are not part of the insolvency estate. They are legally protected under MiCAR Article 75 and returned at par.
Can I lock a rate at execution?
Yes. The exchange rate is locked at the moment of trade execution. The rate shown in the quote is the rate that executes. No slippage between quote and settlement, and no future-dated locking.
